Have you ever heard about the Raw Food Diet? It becomes more and more popular, not only as a diet to lose weight, but also a diet to prolong healthy life. We eat a lot of processed foods without any concerns what we are putting into our bodies, and how far we are away from nutritional foods made with ancestral and agrarian patterns. A raw food diet is the consumption of food in the way of its natural or unprocessed form. There are several simple reasons why this is a good idea. Foods which are processed or cooked can take so much of the basic nutritional value away. Take the illustrate example you have been taught for years, if you cook pasta only at the al dente (or medium) stage, you will gain more calories; on the other hand, you will have more the nutritional value than if you cooked it to a well-done stage. Another good example is that not to peel carrots or potatoes so deeply since most of the nutritional value are just under the surface. Therefore, the raw food diet means eating unprocessed, uncooked, organic wholes foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, dried fruits, seaweeds, etc. or at least 75% uncooked. Since cooking takes original taste and valuable nutrition out from vegetables and fruits, we should cook in the way that our ancestors did. They hardly cooked, especially for fruits and vegetable which are eaten raw. Also, water used for wash them was from natural, spring water, not from a tap. It is not good to consider only how our bodies were meant to eat. Think more for eating in harmony with the planet and in harmony with our own metabolisms; that will make your life more quality. Our bodies were supposed to not only work, but also have to work efficiently. To attain healthy body, you should exercise and eat natural or raw foods that require more energy to digest them.
